โฆ Synopsis
This is the last part of a four-part article on the application of Davanloo's Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy to a patient suffering from panic attacks, episodes of hyperventilation and diffuse character disturbances. Part I focused on the application of Davanloo's technique of handling resistance, leading to the first breakthrough into the unconscious. Part II focused on the course of the interview after the first breakthrough, leading to the partial unlocking of the unconscious and the phase of systematic analysis and consolidation. Part III focused on the process of the trial therapy interview, leading to the direct access to the psychopathological dynamic forces responsible for his symptom and character disturbances. This last part will address the final unlocking of the unconscious with this patient, which consists of the conversion of pathological mourning into an acute grief reaction. The whole process will again be highlighted by systematic analysis of the trial therapy interview of the same patient presented in the first three articles.
