โœฆ Synopsis

Classified abstracts 3385-3397 sorption layer. After argon ion bombardment of oxide-and gascovered surface the electron excited exo-emission may be reduced almost down to the detection limit. After sorption or oxidation, the exe-emission increases again. It is concluded that the process which supplies the exo-electrons with energy is unknown and the experimental data indicate that the thermally stimulated exe-electron emission cannot be described either by nonstationary thermionic emission or by accelerating electric fields in consequence of charging of the surface. A pure gas inlet system is described. The problems associated with the maintenance of gas purity in an ion-pumped system are discussed generally. Mass spectral data for the ambients due to admission of pure oxygen and water vapour are presented; and the use of a computer program for converting the m

The electrical conductivity of Nd O and Sm O doped with 1 and 2 mol % CaO respectively, and LaGdO doped with 5 2 3 2 3 3 mol % BaO has been measured as a function of p(O ), p(H O) and temperature. Computer fitting of the data to a simple 2 2 model allows determination of entropy and enthalpy terms
