Relaxation mechanism acting on CHsI dissolved in a nematic mesophase were studied by linewidth analysis of 'H and 13C NMR spectra. Intramolecular and intermolecular dipolar interaction fluctuations were found to be the most important relaxation phenomena responsible for the line broadening.
