β¦ Synopsis
The structure of the excess electron localization center in tvater has been identified with tl~r structure of the dodccahedral cavities in hesagonal ice. Based on this model the pressure shift of the optical absorption peak, the oscillator strength and the photoconductivity threshold energy of the excess electron have been calculated.

The variation with pressure of the two components of the electronic origin band of the first singlet-singlet transition in crystalline naphthalene is considered. A model is constructed which gives a satisfactory account of this variation. The splitting contains both Coulomb and overlap-dependent ter
A theory is proposed to study ultrafast transient absorption of the hydrated electron. This theory is a statistical theory using a correlation function description of the nonlinear optical processes involved. Time-and frequency-resolved spectra are examined for both coherent and incoherent incident
