## Abstract The composition and stability of aluminiumโ€alizarin 3โ€sulphonate chelate has been studied by spectrophotometric and electrical conductance measurements. The red coloured chelate (ฮป~max~ 470 mฮผ) has a composition 1:2 (metal: chelating agent). The chelate is stable between pH 2.5 and 4.5.

## Abstract A method for the determination of microgram quantities of aluminium using Alizarin Red S (sodium alizarinโ€3โ€sulphonate) has been studied and modified for use with digests of __Hevea__ leaves. The effects of iron, pH and digestion have been clarified. The reagent gives a very reproducibl
