This paper. and its two companions. investigate the relationship hctween the crystallographic texture exhibited by commercially doped powder metallurgy (C.D.P.M.) tungsten wires and rods and the nature of the grain boundaries within the material. It is shown that the strong wire texture of tungsten leads to a high probability of observing certain boundary types. i.e. those which may he characteriscd by b, and/or planar matching dislocations. This paper defines a series of possthlc wire textures. and uses this textural modelling to predict the relationship between certain crystallographic directions in adjacent grains.
