The title structure, C~18~H~24~N~2~·C~6~F~6~, comprises mixed stacks of alternating 4,4′-di-__tert__-butyl-2,2′-bipyridine and hexafluorobenzene molecules, both lying on crystallographic mirror planes. There are weak C—H...N (2.46–2.51 Å) and C—H...F (2.52–2.74 Å) hydrogen bonds lying on the mirror
