Abstract
Split injection of 1βpentanol headspace on to raw or treated fused silica tubing yields information on the characteristics of its surface (silanol concentration, polarity, adsorptivity). Fused silica tubing from three sources was compared. The effect of various leaching and etching procedures used for column preparation was studied, as was the stability of uncoated fused silica precolumns towards water and some organic solvents.

Data for water adsorption at 293 K by an activated series and a heat-treated series of PVDC based carbons are reported. Type 5 (BDDT) isotherms were obtained for adsorption by each carbon. Total water adsorption volumes (a,) are lower than total pore volumes and Dubinin-Radushkevich micropore volume
## Abstract Mixtures of several basic proteins have been used to test CZE capillaries with surfaces modified by new pretreatment procedures; the performance obtained has been compared with that achieved using capillaries treated by procedures described in the literature. It has been shown that add
To improve the blood compatibility of a segmented polyurethane (SPU), phospholipid polymer, i.e., 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC) copolymerized with cyclohexyl methacrylate or 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate, was blended into SPU as a polymeric additive. The blending was achieved by a solve
The precise gas viscosity measurements of Kestin and co-workers and a simple capillary viscometer have been used to test the classical slip correction at 25OC and one atmosphere for pyrex glass and stainless steel surfaces. Data are also presented for mixtures of helium and srgon, and an empirical e
