## Abstract The electrochemical performance of La~2~NiO~4~‐Ce~0.8~Sm~0.2~O~1.9~ composite cathode material with Ce~0.8~Sm~0.2~O~1.9~ electrolyte and Ni‐Ce~0.8~Sm~0.2~O~1.9~ anode has been studied. Powders of La~2~NiO~4~ were prepared by a nitrate‐citrate route whereas commercial Ce~0.8~Sm~0.2~O~1.9
