## Abstract The new compound 3β(__tert__βbutyl)perhydroβ1,5,3βdithiazepine has been synthesised from 5β(__tertβ__butyl)perhydroβ1,3,5βtriazinβ2βone in 45% yield. In the reaction, urea acts as the leaving group being exchanged for the SβCH~2~βCH~2~βS fragment of the product.
