## Abstract The new compound 3‐(__tert__‐butyl)perhydro‐1,5,3‐dithiazepine has been synthesised from 5‐(__tert‐__butyl)perhydro‐1,3,5‐triazin‐2‐one in 45% yield. In the reaction, urea acts as the leaving group being exchanged for the S‐CH~2~‐CH~2~‐S fragment of the product.
