To better characterize the development and growth of hairy roots in a mist-fed root bed, a single root aerosol reactor was developed. Growth kinetics studies were conducted on hairy roots of Artemisia annua as a function of the mist cycle, carrier gas, and nutrient compositions. Sustained rapid grow
## Abstract The isolation, absolute stereochemistry, and synthesis of a new C~11~โterpenoid, 3__S__,4__S__,7__R__โ3,7โdimethylโ4,7โoxidoโnonโ8โenโ2โone, related to davanone, are described.
Seven batches of seeds of Artemisia annua L. (Asteraceae) of dierent origin were grown in Finland. The leaf essential oils were obtained by hydrodistillation in yields of 0.4ยฑ0.9% (v/w). About 30 compounds were identiยฎed and 19 key compounds, representing 87ยฑ96% of the total oil, are listed. There w
