✦ Synopsis
Assignments are suggested for the strong unidentified bands which appear in the absorption spectrum of (N_{2}) below (83.0 \mathrm{~nm}). They are proposed to be the ' (\Pi_{u}) Rydberg states belonging to series converging to the (A^{2} \mathrm{II}{\mathrm{u}}) state of (\mathrm{N}{2}^{+}). 1993 Academic Press. Inc.
