✦ Synopsis

The temperature dependence of the EFR spectrum of triplet excitons in ~thracen~-teiracy~obe~ene cr$%tals reveals 3. fast relaxation between two triplet states separated by 589 + 54 cm -I. The zero-field splitting parameter D is 30% smaller in the upper state, but E remains unchanged. The lifetime of the upper state is 52 X 10-'" s. A possible role of this state in triplet exciton motion is discussed.
