## Abstract The structure of cationic poly(6,6‐dimethylfulvene) (**2a**) has been confirmed by synthesis of 4 model compounds **6, 7, 8, 9** and comparison of the spectral data with those of the polyfulvene. 5‐Isoproylidenetricyclo[5.2.1.0^2.6^]dec‐3‐ene (**6**) shows the same sensitivity towards o
