Solid state magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS NMR), together with microcalorimetry and XRD data, have been used to characterize a pillared interlayered clay (PILC) containing 1X3 ร‚ 10 ร€4 mol Keggin ionag PILC. The clay catalyst (Al 13 -PILC) was prepared by reacting a Texas Na-mon
