✦ Synopsis

n experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE), an animal model for multiple sclerosis (MS), T helper 1 (Th1)/Th2 immunological effector pathways are altered. Neuropathological findings and results from MS treatment trials suggest that our view of MS and other putative autoimmune diseases and their animal models as Th1-mediated diseases is too simplistic and that the Th1/Th2 paradigm is overstated.
