✦ Synopsis
Separation am! identi&ation by thim?ayer chrowtatography derived from dibenzoazepine of five thynzoanale~tic drzcgs Two thin-layer chromatographic procedures on activated Silica Gel G are presented. They are used for the separation and identification of: imipramine, desipramine, clomipramine, trimeprimine, and opipramol. Developing solvents consist of: (A) dehydrated peroxide-free diethyl ether-acetone-diethylamine (go : IO : I) ; (B) benzene-acetone (IOO :zo), shaken with IO ml of 5% aqueous ammonia solution. Spots are detected by spraying first with diluted iodoplatinum reagent, then with 50% sulphuric acid. Fluorescence can be performed after i4 11. Positive results are obtained with only IOO ng of product. Migration of the five mixed compounds does not significantly affect the RF values with respect to those obtained in case that every substance migrated separately.
