A family of bis-urea derivatives has been synthesized and shown to function as effective gelators in certain organic solvents. The X-ray structure of one bis-urea shows a cylindrical hydrogen bonding network with extensive interdigitation of the alkyl esters which project from the central rod.

Two new neutral receptors (1 and 2) containing (thio)urea and amide groups were synthesized by simple steps in g o d yields. The binding properties for anions of 1 and 2 were characterized by W-vis and fluorescence spectra. Receptor 1 had 811 excellent selectivity for A&-in comparison with other ani
## Abstract Two new amide type podands L~1~ and L~2~ (L~1~ = 1, 1, 1βtris {[(2βbenzylaminoformyl) phenoxyl] methyl} propane, L~2~ = 1, 3, 5βtrimethylβ2, 4, 6βtris {[(2βbenzylaminoformyl) phenoxyl] methyl} benzene) and their europium and terbium nitrates complexes were synthesized. The luminescence
A systematic model, based on standard equilibrium expressions and probability theory, is presented to calculate average molecular weighls and gelation conditions fbr the immune system consisting ofa single type of antigens with three (or more) diferent epitopes and three (or more) types of bivalent
