Reactions of bridged dicarboxylic anhydride derivatives with sodium aide in THF give the corresponding, N-tert-butyloxycarbonyl p-minoesters Z(a-c), which can be cyclized to oxanorborno-and norbornouracils &(a-c). Pyrolysis of these adducts leads to dehydro-p-alanine 5 and oxauracil 1.
