✦ Synopsis

Syntheses of a-fluoro-o-amino acid derivatives have been attempted from the viewpoints of their structural and biological interests. o-Amino esters were diazotised with i-AmONO or NaN02 to produce the corresponding diazo esters, which were treated with NBS and HF/pyridine to yield the a-bromo-a-fluoro esters(R-CFBr-COOEt, la-c).
