โฆ Synopsis
We report the synthesis of a new ternary nitride (\mathrm{LiWN}{2}) by the reaction of (\mathrm{Li}{2} \mathrm{WO}{4}) with (\mathrm{NH}{3}) at (745^{\circ} \mathrm{C}). The compound crystallizes in a layered hexagonal structure with (a=2.863) and (c=15.608) A. (\mathrm{LiWN}_{2}) is metallic, consistent with its structure with (\mathrm{W}(\mathrm{V})) in trigonal prismatic coordination and (\mathrm{Li}^{1+}) in octahedral coordination. 1994 Acadenic Press, Inc.
