## Abstract An efficient one‐pot multicomponent synthesis of 2,4‐diamino‐5‐pyrimidinecarbonitrile derivatives has been achieved in excellent yields by the condensation of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, and guanidine using ionic liquid under controlled microwave irradiation (100 W) at 60°C. This
