The furoic-carbonyl-14C a c i d is t h e n e s t e r i f i e d w i t h d i a z o e t h a n e and n i t r a t e d w i t h n i t r o n i u m acetate. The r e s u l t i n g e t h y l 5-nitro-2-furoate-carbonyl-14C is t h e n condensed w i t h biguani d e t o g i v e 2,4-diamino-6-(5-nitro-2-furyl)-l, 3,5-triazine-6-14C. product is t h e n o b t a i n e d by r e f l u x i n g t h e c o n d e n s a t i o n product i n a c e t i c anhyd r i d e t o g i v e a y i e l d of 18% based on t h e amount of Ba14C03 a t a s p e c i f i c a c t iv i t y of 43.2mCi/mmole.
