The new conjugated polyacetylene derivative dehydrated poly(4-hydroxy-4-phenyl-1-butyne) [dehydrated poly(HPB)] was synthesized from poly(4-hydroxy-4phenyl-1-butyne) [poly(HPB)], which was obtained by the polymerization of 4-hydroxy-4-phenyl-1-butyne. The resulting dehydrated poly(HPB) was soluble i
