## Abstract The fluoroquinolones, 7‐benzoxazol‐2‐yl‐1‐ethyl‐6‐fluoro‐1,4‐dihydro‐4‐oxoquinoline‐3‐carboxylic acid and 7‐benzothiazol‐2‐yl‐1‐ethyl‐6‐fluoro‐1,4‐dihydro‐4‐oxoquinoline‐3‐carboxylic acid, were synthesized. The compounds were obtained by use of the Gould‐Jacobs route to the quinoline ri
