compounds. The SSCC agrees well with the dihedral angle found from the Williamson--Johnson curve [6]. The dihedral angles for compounds of the Aa and Ab series that were found in this manner suggest that the angle 4-H--C(4)--C(s)--5-H of Aa is about two times less than the analogous angle of Ab. Thi
1,3-Oxazolidines 9 were synthesized by using a solid support. Regioselective ring opening of resin-bound epoxy ether 3 with ammonium chloride followed by nucleophilic substitution with sodium azide gave azido alcohol 7. Reduction of 7 provided 1-amino-2-alkanol 6, which was treated with various alde
A number of oxazolidines derived from ketones and aminoalcohols have been prepared in excellent yields using microwave irradiation. In most cases, conventional reflux failed to provide any of the desired products.
## Abstract The electron impact mass spectra of 29 oxazolidines derived from sugars were examined. Four general pathways of fragmentation were encountered, the importance of which depends on the nature of the different substitutents.
