✦ Synopsis
Abstract
In this study phenylselenocyanate and some of its derivatives (o‐Cl, p‐Cl, p‐Br, o‐NO~2~, p‐NO~2~, o‐CH~3~, p‐CH~3~, o‐COOH, p‐COOH, p‐OCH~3~ substituted) were synthesized (3a–3j). The synthesized compounds were converted to 5‐aryl‐1__H__‐tetrazole (4a–4j), by Et~3~N ċ HCl‐NaN~3~ in toluene, which are a new series of phenylselanyl‐1H‐tetrazoles. The structure of all the presently synthesized compounds were confirmed using spectroscopic methods (FTIR, ^1^H NMR, MS). © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract magnified image In this study, the possibility of 5‐substituted 1‐__H__‐tetrazoles synthesis using clays as catalyst was investigated. The reaction of a series of aromatic nitriles with sodium azide was catalyzed by montmorillonite K‐10 or kaolin clays in water or DMF as solvent. Conven
The mass spectrometric behaviour of l-aryl-5-(2-dialkylaminovinyl)-lH-tetrazoles was studied, especially l-phenyl-5-(2-dimethylaminovinyI)-lH-tetrazole as a typical example of D-and 'SN-labelled derivatives revealed a rearrangement via a carbodiimide-like intermediate ion.
