A two step procedure for the synthesis of chiral tetradentate sulfonamide ligands is reported. The ligands are easily prepared from the corresponding bissulfonamide complexes by directed metallation followed by quenching with either ketones or carbon dioxide in 47 to 82 % yield. Preliminary results

The electrochemical reduction of a set of four tetradentate ligands, each containing one bipyridine and one pyridyl triazine as molecular subunits, was analysed on mercury electrodes in dimethylformamide as solvent. The diazo group of the triazine subunit is the first reduction site of these ligands
In a general study for developing better drugs suitable for Fe, Al, Co or lanthanide chelation therapy experiments, new mixed bisphosphonate-hydroxy pyridonates were synthesized. We demonstrate that the method using amidation reaction and dealkylation by concentrated hydrochloric acid gives excellen
The synthesis of two new N 2 S 2 or N 2 SO tetradentate ligands and the preparation of their technetium-99m complexes are reported. Each ligand leads to a unique 99m Tc-complex with an excellent radiochemical yield. The in vivo stability of these complexes was determined by serum stability and cyste
