## Abstract Efficient syntheses of 2‐__C__‐trifluoromethyl D‐ and L‐ribose and some __O__‐glycosides __via__ trifluoromethylation of D‐ and L‐3,4‐__O__‐isopropylidene‐β‐__erythro__‐pentopyranosid‐2‐ulose with Ruppert's reagent are described.
