We have investigated carbobenzoxy-, p-nitrocarbobenzoxy-, tritluoroacetyl-, trityl-, tosyl-and phthalyl derivatives of amino acids up to pentapeptides containing glycine, alanine, leucine, valine, glutamic acid, tyrosine and histidine, as well as their methyl-, ethyl-, benzyl-and cyanomethyl esters.
