✦ Synopsis

Starting from 1,1-bisbenzyloxy propanone four oxetanes A, B, C and D representing the dioxatricyclic core of dictyoxetane were synthesized. All of them show a cytotoxic/cytostatic effect using a human gastric carcinoma and a human heptocellular cell line. The activity is comparable to that of5-fluorouracil.
