✦ Synopsis

Acetylhydrazones of p-methylacetophenone, acetylferrocene, and 2acelylthiophene (HL) are easily cyclopalladated to give the complexes [PdClL] . A palladiumcarbon bond is formed with the ortho positions of phenyl and ferrocenyl rings and with the position 3 of a thienyl ring. The complexes react with pyndine (py) to give the adducts [PdClLfpy)] which

have a trans-N,hr and trans-C,CI arrangement. Some bromo analogues are also prepared and chamcterized.
