✦ Synopsis
Abstract
N‐Cyanolactam 2‐imines 1 are versatile NCNC building blocks for the synthesis of partially saturated bicyclic compounds. Reactions with acidic methyl halides, hydroxylamine O‐sulfonic acid, and phenyl isocyanate afford bicyclic imidazole (4), 1,2,4‐triazole (6), and 1,3,5‐triazine (8) derivatives, respectively.
