Abstract

Antheridiol‐(22,23‐^3^H) has been prepared by reduction of 3‐acetoxy‐23,23‐dihydroxy‐22‐oxo‐5, 24(28)‐ergostadiene‐28‐carboxylic acid gamma ‐ lactone with tritiated sodium borohydride followed by hydrolysis, photo‐oxygenation and cupric chloride catalysed rearrangement.
