✦ Synopsis
A novel bifunctional chelating agent for actinium was synthesized in eight steps. Bimolecular cyclization between an iminodiester and a polyamine was achieved through the action of a molar equivalent of sodium methoxide.

A novel bifunctional chelating agent, a derivative of the well-known calcium chelator, BAPTA has been synthesized in 6 steps. The added amino-functionality is likely to expand the use of this chelator.

An Efficient Synthesis of a Novel Bifunctional Chelating Agent. -The first synthesis of an amino-substituted derivative (VIII) of the multidentate ligand 1,2-bis-(o-aminophenoxy)ethane-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid is achieved. Compound (VIII) may be useful in the development of novel conjugates for r
