An Efficient Synthesis of a Novel Bifunctional Chelating Agent.

-The first synthesis of an amino-substituted derivative (VIII) of the multidentate ligand 1,2-bis-(o-aminophenoxy)ethane-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid is achieved. Compound (VIII) may be useful in the development of novel conjugates for radiotherapy and new fluorescent chemosensors selective for calcium ion (no yields given).
