Recent studies concerning the pharmacology of vitamin D have indicated that metabolic conversion of the parent compound to hydroxvlated derivative is a necessary requirement for bfological activity.1 In order to further delineate structure activity relationships and also to study the effect of blocking the known metabolic sites of compounds in this series, the synthesis of 25-blocked vitamin D3 would be of great interest. The recent publication2 of the synthesis of 25-fluorovitamin D3, 24-dehydrovitamin D3 and 25-dehydrovitamin D3 from 25-hydroxyvftamin D3 prompts us to report the alternate synthesis of 25-fluorovitamin D3 from 7-dehydro-25-hydroxy-
