Enantiospecific syntheses of the ZO-and both 19-hydroxy metabolites of 12(S)-HETE were accomplished using readily available, chiral precursors. Recently, a new metabolite of 12(S)-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic (12-HETE) acid (1) was isolated from the coincubation of human platelets and neutrophils with arachidonic acid'.
