โฆ Synopsis
Two novel two-dimensional (2D) lanthanide(III) coordination polymers [Ln(PDC)(OH)(H 2 O) 2 ] n (Ln๏ผEu (1) and Tb (2), H 2 PDC๏ผpyridine-3,4-dicarboxylic acid) have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions, and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, TGA and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Both compounds show the same 2D layer containing 1D Ln-O-Ln chains, and the layers are further connected through hydrogen-bonding as well as ฯ-ฯ stacking interactions into a three-dimensional supramolecular network. Furthermore, both compounds exhibit intense fluorescent emission bands in the solid state at room temperature.
