β¦ Synopsis
A series of tris(pentafluorophenyl) arsenic(V) derivatives of the type (C 6 F 5 ) 3 AsL 2 , (C 6 F 5 ) 3 As(Cl)(L) [L = OCOC 6 H 4 (o-OH), OCOC-(OH)(C 6 H 5 ) 2 , and 2-(6-OCH 3 C 10 H 6 )CH(CH 3 ) COO ], and cycloarsenates, O C(O) (C 6 F 5 ) 3 As O
CHR (R = C 6 H 5 , p-CF 3 C 6 H 4 , and p-OCH 3 C 6 H 4 ) have been isolated and characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic data (infrared; 1 H, 19 F, and 13 C NMR). These compounds were screened for their in vitro antifungal, antibacterial, and antitumor activities and were found to show moderate to significant activity.
