✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The synthesis of the first example of a complex in which methylphosphaalkyne solely η^1^‐coordinates a metal center, [RuH(dppe)~2~(η^1^‐P≡CMe)][CF~3~SO~3~] [dppe = 1,2‐bis(diphenylphosphanyl)ethane], is reported. Treatment of this compound with HBF~4~ (acting as a source of HF) has led to the reduction of the phosphaalkyne and the formation of a rare PF~2~Et complex, [RuH(dppe)~2~(η^1^‐PF~2~Et)][BF~4~]. Both complexes have been crystallographically characterized. (© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2008)
