Abstract
A series of phosphorylated and thiophosphorylated compounds of 2βsubstituted benzimidazoles have been synthesized by the reaction of POCl~3~ and PSCl~3~ with 2βsubstituted benzimidazoles in different molar ratios. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, infrared, and ^1^H NMR and ^31^P NMR spectral studies. These compounds were found to be insecticidal when tested against Periplenata americana. Β© 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
