✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A series of linear tridentate ligands, FcE(CH~2~)~3~E′(CH~2~)~3~EFc (E, E′ = Se or Te), was synthesised. Their chloropalladium(II) and chloroplatinum(II) complexes were also prepared. The new compounds were characterised by a range of spectroscopic and analytical techniques, including multinuclear NMR spectrometry and X‐ray crystallography. In an electrochemistry study of the complexes no communication between the ferrocenyl centres was observed, regardless of the through‐bond Fe**···**Fe distance.(© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
