✦ Synopsis


A new layered tin(II) phosphate [Sn 2 (PO 4 ) 2 ] 2؊ [C 2 N 2 H 10 ]

• H 2 O was synthesized by hydrothermal technique. It crystallizes in monoclinic space group P2 1 /c (No. 14) with lattice parameters a ‫؍‬ 9.4112(1) A s ; b ‫؍‬ 8.5998(1) A s ; c ‫؍‬ 15.9921(2) A s ; ‫؍‬ 100.009(1)°; V ‫؍‬ 1274.61(2); Z ‫؍‬ 4; R ‫؍‬ 2.06%; R w ‫؍‬ 2.17%. The structure consists of inorganic layers, comprising a network of strictly alternating SnO 3 and PO 4 moieties and held together by strong hydrogen bonding between the layers. Protonated ethylenediamine and water molecules are trapped between the layers.
