The synthesis, reactivity and full characterization of a series of meso-tetraalkyl porphyrins and metalloporphyrins with R n-butyl (6), 2-methyl-propyl (7), isopropyl (8), l-ethyl-propyl (10) and tertbutyl (11) groups are reported. Derivatives of the last of these show considerably bathochromically
The synthesis, characterization and crystal structure of the octanitro-substituted porphyrin 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(3,5-dinitrophenyl)porphyrin, H 2 T(3,5-DNP)P, are described. The solid state structure has two porphyrins in the unit cell with eight pyridine solvates and is made up from columnar arrays
## Abstract A novel series of 4‐substituted 1‐{[4‐(10,15,20‐triphenylporphyrin‐5‐yl)phenyl]methylidene}thiosemicarbazide, **4a**–**4n**, was synthesized in 9–21% yield by the condensation of 4‐(10,15,20‐triphenylporphyrin‐5‐yl)benzaldehyde (**3**) with various substituted thiosemicarbazides in pres
