The Raman vibrational spectra of the hexamethyltrisilanes with X = H, F, Cl, Br, I, X 2 MeSiSiMe 2 SiMe 3 C 6 H 5 and recorded at various temperatures, prove the simultaneous presence of two rotamers, anti and gauche, OCH 3 , in the liquid state. Enthalpy di †erences between the rotamers were determ

✦ Synopsis
The iminophosphane (Me 3 Si) 3 CϪP=NϪMes* (1) reacts with Chlorine/bromine exchange in 3 with bromotrimethylsilane affords the bromo analogue 4. The structures of 2, 3 and 4 iodine to form the imino(methylene)phosphorane IϪP-(=NϪMes*)=C(SiMe 3 ) 2 (2). Upon subsequent treatment with were confirmed by X-ray crystal structure analysis; each of the compounds features a trigonal-planar phosphorus atom. AgCl, the corresponding chloro derivative 3 is obtained.
