β¦ Synopsis
Synthetic Cs(VO 2 ) 3 (TeO 3 ) 2 is built up from infinite sheets of distorted octahedral V V O 6 groups, sharing vertices. These octahedral layers are ΒͺcappedΒΊ by Te atoms (as parts of pyramidal [Te IV O 3 ] 2Β± groups) on both faces of each V/O sheet, with inter-layer, 12-coordinate, Cs + cations providing charge compensation. Cs(VO 2 ) 3 (TeO 3 ) 2 is isostructural with M(VO 2 ) 3 (SeO 3 ) 2 (M = NH 4 , K).
