Abstract

[Bu~4~N][Ni(mdt)~2~] (H~2~mdt = 2__H__‐1,3‐dithiole‐4,5‐dithiol) has been prepared in a three‐step synthesis from [Bu~4~N]~2~[Zn(dmit)~2~] (H~2~dmit = 2‐thione‐1,3‐dithiole‐4,5‐dithiol). The crystal structure is reported which shows that the Ni(mdt)~2~ anion is distorted significantly from planarity.
