Abstract
[Bu~4~N][Ni(mdt)~2~] (H~2~mdt = 2__H__β1,3βdithioleβ4,5βdithiol) has been prepared in a threeβstep synthesis from [Bu~4~N]~2~[Zn(dmit)~2~] (H~2~dmit = 2βthioneβ1,3βdithioleβ4,5βdithiol). The crystal structure is reported which shows that the Ni(mdt)~2~ anion is distorted significantly from planarity.
