✦ Synopsis

A new thiazolylthioether complex, {Ag 2 L(NO 3 ) 2 } 1 (1), has been prepared through the reaction of 2,2 0 -[1,4-phenylenebis (methylenethio)]bisthiazole (L) and AgNO 3 and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. The result reveals that the complex crystallizes in triclinic space group P-1; with a ¼ 5:452ð2Þ; b ¼ 10:382ð4Þ; c ¼ 10:551ð4Þ A ˚, a ¼ 80:679ð6Þ; b ¼ 82:296ð7Þ; g ¼ 87:125ð7Þ8, and Z ¼ 1: The Ag(I) atom in the 2D network adopts a distorted tetrahedral geometry composed of two O donors from two distinct nitrate anions, one S donor from one ligand and one N donor from another ligand, and there exist apparent Ag-Ag interactions. The 2D brick networks are further connected to form an extended 3D structure through intermolecular C-H• • •O hydrogen bonds.
