The title compound (C 15 H 12 N 3 OSCl) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /n with a = 11.211( 3), b = 8.106(2), c = 17.494(4) ร , ฮฒ = 104.49(2)ยบ, V = 1539.2(7) ร 3 , Z = 4, D cal = 1.371 Mg/m 3 at T = 293 K. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squ
The two pyridine rings in the title compound, C 12 H 10 N 6 , form dihedral angles of 35.7 (2) and 16.8 (2) with the central triazole ring. The molecules exist as centrosymmetrically related dimers and form a three-dimensional network through intermolecular NรHร ร รN hydrogen bonds.
In the title compound, C 15 H 14 N 4 Oร2H 2 O, the 1,2,4-triazole, pyridine and benzene rings do not share a common plane. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-Hร ร รN and O-Hร ร รO intermolecular hydrogen-bond interactions.
